About Jonn

Sgt. Jonnathon R. DuClau

Sgt. Jonnathon R. DuClau, or more commonly known as Jonn, was born in Foster, RI to Bob and Judi DuClau. He spent his school years in Scituate, RI where he not only found the love of his life Amanda, but decided to join the U.S. Army Reserves.

Upon his graduation in 2002, Jonn went straight to Boot Camp and then specialized training as a truck driver. On completion he became a member of the 325th Transportation Company out of Brockton, MA. In January 2003, after he became engaged to Amanda, his unit was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. An action he would repeat in 2005.

In between his deployments he and Amanda got married and had their first son Dyllan, it would be a little over four years before their son Zackary finished off their family of four.

Jonn spent his time working, hunting, camping, spending time with his family at their home in Coventry, RI and riding motorcycles. It was in motorcycles that he found an escape from some of the hidden wounds of war.

In the Spring of 2018, Jonn was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, which was traced back to his exposure to unknown elements in Iraq. For 9 months, Jonn and his family fought an uphill battle until January of 2019 it was lost. Jonn was 34 years old.

Jonn was passionate about anything that helped his fellow Veterans regardless of their service era. He would do anything for anyone in need. So, after his passing, his sister and wife decided to start the Jonn P.B.R. DuClau Memorial Foundation in his memory. Our goal is to continue to support Jonn’s love for his brothers and sisters in arms in any way we can.

The Jonn “PBR” DuClau Memorial Foundation is a small organization looking to make a big impact in our local Veteran community.
